Capitalistic gamers start with a modest cash cache and must build a chain of businesses ranging from grocery stores to department stores to drugstores, with many more types available. There are hours of marketing in store for the hardcore detail-minded money manager. If cute and clever is not your idea of how the battles are won in the arena of finance, then this title is worth the investment of time and money. Business instructors might also be able to work the game into their lesson plans -- the business models are that realistic. In fact, they may be too realistic for casual gamers with only a passing interest in business simulations.
Comparing the game to others in the genre, one sees several opportunities. As examples, Monopoly Tycoon offers sly AI opponents in the form of cunning cartoon characters, a city built with 3D polygons, and crisp music playing. The popular shareware game Dope Wars focuses on interesting and illicit "products" while incorporating unusual random events. Capitalism II is not for the casual simulation game player. This is an extraordinarily hard game to beat! If you are used to simulation games which you can beat in just a few hours, this one you will find to challenge you more than you have been in any simulation before. The learning curve is steep, even with the friendly layout, because of the sheer volume of information which is available.
Since Capitalism II is an accurate model of the real world, it will seem complicated, but super enjoyable as you grow to understand more and more. One helpful feature is the Entreprenuer's mode. Essentially this is a tutorial to help you learn how to play and enjoy the game more.

If you've ever fancied dipping your toes into the business world, but have found it all a bit intimidating, then Capitalism 2 is the game for, offering as it does a fun but complex and accurate strategy experience. Capitalism 2 is a game that, while unapologetic, it sure has a bit of a tongue in cheek thing going for itself; what I mean is, yeah, it is a game about amassing wealth and power and using it in the most irresponsible ways possible, even at the expense of the world, like a cancer, but on the other, by allowing you to take it this far, it shows you that economic growth, unregulated, can be damn irresponsible and almost criminal. So, in a way, Capitalism 2, along with, say, Sim City, allows us to see that we do, indeed live on a planet that is finite, that can only be exploited so much until it explodes, or rather, implodes, under its own weight. At any rate, if CEO management is where you want to be playing as, this is the perfect game to do it, for better or for worse. It's a really deep simulation game, so anything is possible, even a corporation that doesn't want to see the world fall! Play it if you really love simulation games, especially the ones poised on economic manipulation and trade.
Capitalism is a simulation game which can be played in two different ways. The player may start their own business or play a scenario with a pre-made business with a set goal. In a new game, the player begins with a maximum of $200,000,000 initial capital. Each store can be stocked with up to four different items. As a real world model it is necessary to take into account land cost, overhead, demand for the products, and competition. The player can build several types of firms including department stores, factories, research and development centers, farms, mines, oil wells, and logging camps.
The player can also choose to run research and development (R&D) operations as either their sole business or alongside running other operations such as department stores and factories. R&D ultimately improves the player's product quality by increasing technology gain. R&D for any product can last from 6 months to 10 years in the game, with the technology gain being higher when the R&D duration is increased. New products can also be produced using R&D. 041b061a72
